Introduction
The development of societies and expansion of the existing problems in
transportation field has outlined the necessity to pay more attention to applied
research in this industry.
In this relation and by the increased qualitative and quantitative research
activities in various fields of transportation such as air, land, marine and
rail transportation , also the requirement to provide appropriate Background and
long - term planning for optimal application of these activities, The proposal
for establishment of Transportation Research Institute was presented to
government. After the preparation of statutory and the confirmation of the
Ministry of Science, Research and Technology ,the Institute was formally
established and officially started its activities in 2003 by employing the
specialized and competent Academic Board Members.
